Julie has been in Private Practice since 2019 working with children aged 3 years to adolescence and their families. Julie has had Play Therapy contracts with Vale of Glamorgan Council, Ty Caredig Residential Care Home, 2 Wish, Barnados, Bridgend County Borough Council, The Behaviour Clinic and local Vale of Glamorgan schools. Julie has provided therapeutic play training for parents through Single Parent Wellbeing and facilitated parent and child Nurture Groups.
Prior to becoming a Play Therapist, Julie completed BSc Psychology & Health Sciences in 1995 and worked in a variety of roles in the 3rd sector including fundraising for National disability charity Scope and local charity Merthyr Tydfil Institute for the Blind.
Julie moved to the Middle East with her family for 5 years in 2011. Julie utilised her dissertation to run creative Therapeutic Play groups at an International School in Bahrain supporting children’s social skills and resilience when transitioning from Primary to Secondary school or moving Countries.
